Position Description
Clear Channel Radio Account Executives are responsible for creating marketing solutions for clients looking to meet their key business challenges using radio, internet and event advertising.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prospect and call on new accounts
- Develop and maintain client relationships through exceptional customer service
- Conceptualize radio marketing strategies to address client challenges
- Write and present proposals
- Coordinate advertisement copywriting and production
- Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, time rates, and sales contracts
Requirements
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and in a team environment
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communications skills
- Manage time and records with ease
- Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills
Experience and Education
- 1-3 years sales experience
- Media sales experience is beneficial, but not critical
- A college degree is preferred, but not required

WSMJ INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Internships are available in the Promotions Department.
- Compensation: Academic Credit - this is a NON-PAID position.
- Job Description: Work approximately 20 hours per week. Flexible hours based on availability (school schedule and/or work schedule). Some weekend and evening hours will be required based on promotions, events, concerts, etc., outside of radio station. Additionally, assisting in the day to day operations of the promotion department: filing, keeping inventory of prize closet, organizing promotional database, fulfilling promotional requests, learning the promotions side of radio and much more.
- Candidate Qualifications: Student must be enrolled in an accredited program during internship and receive academic credit for the internship. Student must also possess good work ethics such as punctuality, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn and be people oriented and serious about moving their career forward.
